Statistics for the Annually replacement of Road Studs

Dear Medway Council,

In brief my Company, Cyclops Road Studs Ltd has developed a device that illuminates road markings with UK, USA, CHINA & EUROPE patents granted and further patents pending globally.
I would very much appreciate information for the number of Road Studs that are replaced Annually in the UK within your Region? I understand that this is information that will be held on your behalf by various contractors and I have tried unsuccessfully to date to get access to the statistics I require by contacting the various manufacturers and road marking companies.
The only guide I have managed to source to Date is an online article which states that there are approx. 5oo Million Road Studs in the UK?
I have been advised to request an FOI in order to get these figures as I have been unable to get the information, I require from any of the contacts I have approached previously, and this seems to be the only option left to me
IT IS IMPERATIVE TO MY COMPANY THAT I HAVE THE CORRECT INFROMATION IN ORDER FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO FINALISE DISCUSSIONS WITH VARIOUS INVESTORS TO GET A ROUTE TO MARKET WHICH IS DEPENDENT ON THE ANNUAL REPLACEMENT FIGURES.

Yours faithfully,
Thomas Barker

Response:

Dear Mr. Barker,

We are unable to provide you with a figure for the number of road studs that we replace annually in Medway. The reason for this is that due to slip and trip hazards with road studs, we don’t replace them. Instead when we remove them we replace them with thermoplastic screed (white paint) rather than a physical stud. We would therefore have no use for your product.
